Diode laser hair removal is a common and efficient hair removal method
Diode laser hair removal is mainly based on the photothermal effect. There is a large amount of melanin in the hair follicles and hair shafts, and melanin has a strong absorption capacity for diode lasers of specific wavelengths. When the laser is irradiated to the skin surface, the laser energy is preferentially absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicles and converted into heat energy. This heat energy causes the temperature of the hair follicles to rise rapidly. When the temperature reaches a certain level (generally about 70°C), the hair follicle tissue will be destroyed.
Because the hair follicles are destroyed, the hair loses the basis for regeneration, thus achieving the effect of hair removal. However, the growth of human hair is divided into the growth phase, the regression phase and the resting phase. The hair follicles in the growth phase have a high melanin content and are sensitive to lasers, which are the main targets of laser hair removal; while the hair in the regression phase and the resting phase has a relatively weak response to lasers, so it often takes multiple treatments to have an effective effect on all hair follicles.
Diode laser hair removal is suitable for hair removal in various parts of the body, including the face (such as lip hair, chin hair), arms, legs, chest, back, bikini line, etc. However, the hair and skin characteristics of different parts are different, and the laser parameters need to be adjusted according to the actual situation during the operation.
